Speed is the new mantra for Indian Railways (Click the title for a link to the article)

Is PATHETIC the word to be used for the speed record of the railways? Their track record of modernization, Meaning 'moving from Steam to Diesel' took them 50 yrs, lets see how many donkeys years they take to at least get the 150 Km/hr speed for trains to run on the existing tracks.

Bullet trains ?????? ;-))))))))))))))
I have nothing to say but drop my jaw and keep waiting for this miracle to happen and then pinch my self in disbelief if it is done in the next DECADE.

Who are you Kidding...Indian railways is probably THE MOST ANTIQUATED RAILWAY SYSTEM IN THE WORLD. Anything you say to me without practical substantiation in reality...I think I will let my judgment of their CRAPPY 60 YEARS OF TRACK RECORD DECIDE IT.

I agree with you. Speed was never a priority- atleast for 20 some years that I have been in India.i have seen ppl carry calendars with them on a chennai-guwahati express to keep track of dates. every neighborhood with population above 100 r so gets a halt and being in the 2nd most populous country in the world, its not hard to figure out the number of stops/halts that a train stops at en route from point A to point B.If only Gods can smile on us!!!!!!!!
